Importance of Usability

Easy to use applications will help the user achieve their goals effectively with quality satisfaction. We can observe this from the popular apps around us. They have been able to grab higher number of users than those apps which was developed exploring less into usability.

As described in ISO 9421-11 standard on usability as an extent to which a product can be used to achieve satisfactory outcomes efficiently in a specified usage context.

<aside> 💡 If your app is not usable, tons of alternatives are there (and in development) that can outperform your market success.

Either an existing app will not let your app more audience, or new competitors will simply take over pointing at your app that has low usability.

5 characteristics that make a product usable

It is a calibration metric that clarifies whether users can complete their goals with high degree of accuracy.

Some of the measures that can be applied to build effective user experience are:

• Data Validation before proceeding can reduce error and unwanted frustration having to know something is not working in the last moment.
• Clearer and simpler language (simple international English in case of English language based interface).
• Quality deliverables: Result achieved from app usage should be of great quality.
